Industries that intensively use intellectual property protection account for over 41% of the U.S. gross domestic product and employ one-third of the total workforce

Although this news is a bit old, I just stumbled across a report from the United States Patent and Trademark Office released in March of 2022 that finds that industries that intensively use intellectual property protection account for over 41% of U.S. gross domestic product and employ one-third of the total workforce, and workers in IP-intensive industries have average weekly earnings 60% higher than that received by workers in other industries. The findings are based on data from 2019.
